THE
DEL RIO COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION
P.O. BOX 24
DEL RIO TENNESSEE 37727
The Del Rio Community Association (DRCA) has provided the Del Rio community with a fire department, a library, community meeting rooms and various other services and improvements since 1976. The DRCA is funded by contributions from the County Legislative Body, grants from several sources, donations from individuals and organizations, fund raisers, and membership dues.
The Del Rio Volunteer Fire Department responds to all emergencies in an area of about 100 square miles, including more than 1500 households and businesses. The DRVFD also acts as a mutual aide department, assisting all neighboring community firefighting contingents. The DRVFD strives to maintain high standards for firefighting apparatus and practices, and to provide the best safety equipment for its 20 volunteers.
The Marie Ellison Memorial Library, housed at the Del Rio Community Center, has a continually upgraded collection of over 9000 books, DVD & VHS movies, and audio recordings, and receives circulating materials from the State Library System. The library also has 4 desktop computers with wireless high-speed internet for public use, and an extensive collection of local genealogical and historical materials.
The Del Rio Community Center has 2 large meeting rooms, equipped with a kitchen, which are used for local and regional meetings, family reunions, parties, dances, musical events, and community benefits.
The DRCA also organizes events for the general public, including Del Rio Days, our annual community festival at the Jones Nature Center, and the yearly Christmas Crafts Bazaar at Del Rio School.
